The blog describes how the ‘science of life’ treats your skin problems and makes your skin glow.

Why do skin problems occur?

Ayurveda associates skin problems with three Doshas. The Panchakarma treatment describes Doshas is a misbalance in the vital energies of our body which is in turn responsible for the improper working of our body. Each one of us is born with a distinct Dosha homeostasis, which is responsible for our existence.

  • Vata Dosha – initiates movements
  • Pitta Dosha – initiates transformations
  • Kapha Dosha – initiates liquids

Any imbalance in these Doshas leads to the occurrence of unnatural changes in our body, thus, causing diseases.

Skin problems caused by Vata Dosha

Our skin comprises of 3 primary layers. Out of these three, the epidermis is the outermost layer, which is in contact with the outside world. People who are predominantly Vata are prone to Apicharma skin problems.

Vata is likely to cause skin problems like dry skin, premature wrinkles, dry eczema, irritable skin, and dandruff. Exposure to humidity, dryness, consuming dry food, and living a stressful life aggravates the Vata Dosha in our body.

Skin problems caused by Pitta Dosha

The second skin layer, the dermis, consists of connective tissues, blood vessels, sweat glands, and plasma. When toxins start entering this layer, the skin gets irritable, hot, and red. Thus, those who are predominantly Pitta are more likely to suffer from eczema.

Symptoms: The dermis becomes inflammatory, hot, and red. You may experience swollen skin with small blisters and allergies (dermatitis) or from enlarged blood vessels (rosacea).

Stress and anger is the prime reason behind Pitta Dosha. Adjusting diets, using Ayurvedic herbs for skin treatment, and practicing healing will reduce the skin problems caused by Pitta Dosha.

Skin problems caused by Kapha Dosha

Kapha Dosha triggers the Hypodermis, the third layer of the skin. The hypodermis is the moistest layer of the skin. When toxins in this layer reach their saturation point, they start creating imbalances in the body, leading to skin problems. Those who are predominantly Kapha are more likely to suffer from problems in this layer.

Symptoms: People with Kapha Dosha suffer from skin problems like Psoriasis, infected boils, and wet eczema. Ayurvedic treatment centersby recommending proper diet, Ayurvedic herbs, and Ayurvedic massage therapy, can relieve you from Kapha Dosha.

  • People suffering from Vata Dosha are recommended to avoid dry, cold, and raw food products and should take frequent meals.
  • Those who are suffering from Pitta Dosha should discard acidic, raw, and spicy food items from their diet. In addition to this, they should avoid frequent meals.
  • Kapha imbalance patients should avoid Dairy, starchy, creamy, and sugary products and should have moderate food intake.
